all of your closing documents/deed/survey in

It's important to know that if you lose your
"deed" that the world will not end!
The original deed, which conveys ownership to
your new home, has no real value.
Your deed has been recorded in the "court
of record" which is the "Circuit Court"
of the city or county you live in. When your
deed is recorded at the courthouse, "the
world is put on notice" that you are the
owner of the property.
The court records reflect who sold the property,
who purchased the property, the type of conveyance,
and the amount of money the purchaser paid for
the property.
